Two Ways to Create Better Content with ChatGPT

Content Using ChatGPT

In this post I will begin by discussing my philosophy/principles for using AI. This would be followed by the two ways I create better content with ChatGPT and my 3 Step Process of how i structure my inputs into Chat. At the end of this post, there is a Youtube Video for those of you who would like to explore this topic more in depth through examples showing snippets from using ChatGPT.

My Main Philosophy/Principles for Using AI:

  • The quality of your thinking is what will affect the quality of your content.

  • The Perfect Prompt ? Many popular marketing courses tend to emphasize that creating the best content using AI has to do mainly with finding the “perfect prompt”. I would argue that these prompts can be generic, lacking the domain knowledge, original ideas and critical thinking of a person shaping these prompts.

  • Viewing AI as a writing assistant . That’s why I believe the new phrase “I can tell AI wrote/created this” has become so popular on social media. Everyone is focused on just prompts and outputs. This has led to posts now bragging about not using AI to claim authenticity in a world that’s becoming more and more AI dominated. I am of the the opinion one can still be very creative while still using AI by viewing it as a writing assistant and not as the primary generator of ideas.

  • Lack of Critical Thinking ? There is a lot of concerns in the education industry of the copy and pasting that is taking place with AI. The question, “Should AI be allowed in schools?” have become quite controversial. The debate on both sides has fair points, AI can decrease critical thinking if used to generate answers wholesale but if used correctly it can also help the process of critical thinking.

Two Ways to Create Better Content with ChatGPT

1) Asking Questions

Here are some questions that help me critically think about a piece of content before I even begin using AI to write it:

  1. What is the hidden assumption ?
  2. Why does this happen ?
  3. Is there another explanation ?
  4. What perspective has not been considered ?
  5. What does this lead to ? (Implications)

2) Using Analogies/ Metaphors

Analogies/Metaphors are a great way to take an idea and make it your own. We learn about similes and metaphors in literature, particularly poetry at school. Maybe you were someone who wondered “How is this going to help me one day in the real world?”…. well today is that day. The ability to make those connections, especially even more in depth with analogies produces such creative posts along with slogans/quotes.

3 Step Process: Content with ChatGPT Input/Prompt

  1. Article Snippet and Your Take
  2. Run through another AI for voice matching (branding)
  3. Ask for the best captions for an image post.

Note: To give ChatGPT context for the first prompt, these are the additional information I provide before the first step of entering my article snippet and take.
